Our contracted suppliers play a critical role in differentiating the Premier healthcare alliance and meeting the needs of our broad membership base. Integrating and leveraging supplier diversity into the way we do business helps us maximize competitiveness and creates real opportunities for diverse and small business to grow their capacity across our alliance. By diversifying the supply chain composition with small and diverse supplier options, we believe we are providing cost-cutting solutions, innovation and economic vitality for our nonprofit hospitals and the communities they serve.

In 2009, Premier launched a program Sourcing Education and Enrichment for Diverse and Small Suppliers (SEEDS) aimed at increasing the number of small, diverse and regional enterprises doing business with members of the Premier healthcare alliance. Suppliers can grow at a pace commensurate with their existing infrastructure. The SEEDS program also provides contracted suppliers with experienced resources and educational tools intended to assist in gaining contract sales and building long term relationships across the alliance.
